I am delighted to introduce you to the Sixth Form at SWGS. Our Sixth Form, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, offers a wide range of subjects and a broad curriculum. We are really pleased that, each year, up to around 90 students join us for the sixth form, making up between 35% and 45% of each year group.

Four main principles underpin the sixth form at SWGS:

  1. Vibrant learning: we aim to ensure that our specialist, expert teachers help you to enjoy an outstanding educational experience.
  2. Excellent pastoral care: we do all we can to support you. I am proud that a key guiding principle of the sixth form is to do what is right for each individual at all times.
  3. Challenging stereotypes: we seek to ensure that you leave school as confident, self-aware and independent people, who have a sense of where you are going in life and what you want to do and be.
  4. Community: we support you to give back to the community in myriad ways, guided by the concept that: “I am, because we are.”

Details of our open afternoons and evenings are included in this section of the website; we very much look forward to meeting you then. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me by email (sixthform@swgs.wilts.sch.uk).

With best wishes

Kate Philbrick - Director of Sixth Form
