The Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre is situated in a wonderful new building, which opened in Sept 2009, adjacent to the Sixth Form Centre. It provides a very spacious and welcoming environment for our students to study, research and read. It is open from 8.15 am - 4.15 pm (4.00 pm on Fridays). There is study seating, with a variety of tables designed for 2, 4 or up to 10 students, a comfortable sofa area, and beanbags to curl up on for a quiet read. The LRC has in excess of 13,000 fiction and non-fiction titles to support both the curriculum and recreational reading.

As well as books the Learning Resource Centre has 32 networked computers, which are comfortably arranged with plenty of working space. There are also newspapers; magazines and periodicals; classical music CDs; and French & German DVDs. The Learning Resource Centre operates the Heritage Library Management system, which is networked throughout the school. Students can access their own borrower record; make enquiries and place reservations for books which are out on loan.

A designated Careers area contains a wide variety of materials to assist students in making informed higher education and career choices.

A colour photocopier is available.

Learning Resource Centre Librarian, Mrs C Gardiner is available to offer support and guidance all students and staff in using the LRC.
