Regional Festival of Youth

Our Chamber Orchestra performed in the Regional Festival of Youth last year and were consequently chosen to play in the final National Festival of Youth Music Concert in Birmingham Symphony Hall – a very great honour and a hugely exciting venue. The adjudicators were really pleased with the girls and said they sounded like professionals, awarding them one of three special certificates of commendation for schools’ orchestras. In August the orchestra was chosen to appear at the Royal Albert Hall in London on November 8th in the Schools Proms. The girls and  Mr Parsons, their director, deserve many congratulations!

A Cappella is delighted to have been invited to share a concert with the world-famous singing group, The Kings’ Singers. This will take place in Salisbury Cathedral on 28th January at 7.30pm. Tickets will be available from Salisbury Playhouse. The Kings’ Singers are  giving their services without payment and profits will be given to the John McNeill District Specialist Centre, Salisbury’s nursery for special needs. Philip Lawson will be leaving The Kings’ Singers after eighteen years and this will be his farewell concert. We are looking forward to what promises to be a very special evening indeed.
