IT Technician

IT Technician
Fixed term contract, full time
37 hours per week (Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm),
52 Weeks per year (25 Days Holiday plus Bank Holidays)
Salary scale: NJC Scale 12-17 (£21,589 to £23,836 FTE)

 

We wish to appoint a temporary ICT Technician on a fixed term contract, initially until August 31st 2020, with a possibility of an extension. This is to increase the capacity of our provision. The person appointed will work with the Network Manager providing IT support to the staff and students of the school. 

Duties will include Desktop, Application, Server, Network and Hardware support, and Health and Safety. 

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to work alone and as part of a team and be a confident user of the majority of Hardware and Operating Systems.  

Working in a school or education environment would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Due to the retirement of our current Business Manager an exciting opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and committed individual to join our Senior Leadership Team. South Wilts is a flourishing, highly regarded and successful school, and we became an Academy in January 2011.

 This role requires a suitably qualified and experienced person to take the lead in the financial management of the school, as well as the management of our support staff and premises.  You should be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be a team player and have a commitment to take a wider role in school life.

Library Assistant

Library Assistant

1 or 2 days a week
8.15am to 4.15pm

40 weeks per year (term-time only plus TD days)

Salary scale: NJC Scale 3 (£18,795 - £19,171 FTE)

Actual starting salary: £3,317 or £6,634

We wish to appoint a Library Assistant to run our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) on the days when the Part Time Librarian does not work, ensuring it is used to its full potential.

Duties will include advising and assisting staff and students; supporting teaching and learning through the use of LRC resources.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to work alone and as part of a team and be proficient in MS Office Suite. Experience of library management software or working in a school library or similar environment would be an advantage but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Exams Invigilator

Exams Invigilator

£10.69 per hour (including 11.9% holiday pay)

Ad Hoc position (zero hours) but must be available during all key exam and admissions periods.

We are looking for Invigilators to join our team, to ensure the smooth running of both external and internal exams at the school.

Hours are booked with invigilators by the Exams Officer on an ad hoc basis as and when required. During peak times an invigilator may be asked to work up to 4 hours in a morning (between 8:30am and 12:30pm) and up to 4 hours in an afternoon (between 12:30pm and 4:30pm). 

Invigilators are asked to notify the Exams Officer of any regular weekly commitments well in advance (or any known one-off absences) in order to assist them with the task of making bookings.

Applicants must be available to attend a training session prior to undertaking any invigilation duties.   Invigilators are expected to have high availability for all peak periods (May and June for public exams and end of year assessments, Two Saturdays in September (19th and 26th) for 11+ entrance exams, and a week each in December and January for Mock exams).  There are other ad hoc requirements during the course of the year.
